Officials stated that a Colorado man has been accused of stabbing a black man in the neck in an eastern Oregon restaurant.
The Oregonian reports a grand jury has accused a 26-year-old man named Nolan Strauss of perpetrating a hate crime that pertains to assaulting. On December 21, 2019, the 48-year-old who is the victim of the tragic event was in Ontario, Oregon was waiting in the hallway as he had been applying for employment.
It is that moment when the accused Strauss just came in and stabbed him in the neck, one of the witnesses said. The U.S office stated that it was unprovoked and unannounced.
Subsequently, the victim struggled and successfully freed himself from Strauss as he was held by the Arby’s staff. And as he was asked why he had assaulted the man, then he responded that he did not like black people, the witnesses claimed.
The 48-year-old victim was then rushed to the Idaho hospital where he underwent surgery for two incisions to his neck.
Nolan Straus could face a life sentence in prison in case he is condemned, as he is supposed to arrive at court on October 20th. That’s what the officials say when asked about this investigation. It’s like a murder attempt and undoubtedly, could be taken a serious criminal offence.
We hope that justice is brought to the victim of this awful incident. It is so sad to see how innocent people are getting assaulted. It is very fortunate that the victim did not die. And we hope that such mishappening does not take place in future.
